Reading a Heat Sheet
Events: There are 75 events in each swim meet.
We swim Medley relay, Freestyle, Backstroke, 100 IM, Breaststroke, Butterfly, Freestyle Relay.
25 yard length for ages 5 -10, 50 yard length for ages 11 & up.
Heats: Within each event there are heats of 6-8 swimmers depending on the number of lanes in the pool
Lane: this is the lane number where your swimmers will swim
Seed Time: Once a swimmer participates legally in an event, they will have a "seed time" in that event for the next meet. Swimmers are placed in heats and relays according to their seed times*. The home team is assigned to certain lanes and the visiting team is assigned to the other lanes. That creates a mix of both teams.
