Meet Declarations (Sign ups)
Good Morning,
Swim meet declarations are open for our swim meets this season. Declarations are a way to let us know if your swimmer(s) will attend the swim meet and to sign up for their individual events. Swimmers can swim up to three individual events and two relays per swim meet. Coaches set the relays. Our goal is that each swimmer swims at least one relay each swim meet. If you are unsure about which individual events to choose, you can find a coach to discuss at the next practice or leave us a note on the declaration page.
Please leave us a note if there are any time constraints (leaving early, arriving late) so that we can plan our relays accordingly. Again, we plan for every swimmer to swim on a relay.
Declarations close the Wednesday morning before each swim meet. The declaration period for our first swim meet on May 28th will close Wednesday 5/27 at 9am. No late entries will be allowed.
If you declare yes and your swimmer must miss the meet, please, let us know ASAP so that we can reset our relay line up. It is very difficult to find replacements for the relays during the meet. It often results in the relay having to scratch and three swimmers (and their families) being disappointed. This is especially true if you leave without letting our coaches know.
Attached is a step-by-step guide to declaring your swimmers. There is some great swim meet info on the swim meet 101 page on our website. Found here: https://westport.swimtopia.com/swim-meet-101 We will attempt a mock swim meet during our practice times on Wednesday.
Please reach out at [email protected] with any questions or find a coach on deck.
Volunteer coordinators will be reaching out to families who have not signed up for the required volunteer shifts this season to get you signed up so your swimmer can swim in the meet.
